Fully obeying GOD – our MASTER!!

Unless we keep making God our master, sin and satan and his hordes are able to enslave us. This is why “Submit yourselves, then, to God” comes immediately before, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). 

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Only when we are in complete submission to God can we expect to successfully resist the devil and his deceptive schemes.

We sometimes act as if “Lord” were a mere courtesy title. It means master, and this is why the word appears so often in the Bible. Fully obeying God, however, is nothing like the scary thing that it seems. It is warmer, safer and more satisfying that even obeying one’s own whims. What makes obeying God so satisfying is that no matter how much you want to look after your best interests, God wants it even more. The God of infinite love is more devoted to you and loves you more than you care for yourself. No matter how smart you are, the all-knowing Creator of the universe is wiser still. His guidance is the expression of his yearning to pour infinite intelligence and divine foreknowledge into your every decision. To obey God is to say goodbye to foolish decisions and hello to mastery over self. Yielding even to God’s scariest commands is not only the smartest decision you could ever make, it is like yielding to a lover’s caress.

Most of us are tempted to think, “I’ll obey God almost all the time. I’d only disobey if asked to do something that is quite inconvenient.” That’s not letting God be our God. 

Making our own decisions as to which of God’s directions we will obey is making ourselves god – the one who decides what we do. To push God out of part of our lives is to reject wisdom and security and love. It not only breaks God’s heart, we deeply wound ourselves. Making oneself god is what Eve thought she was doing when she disobeyed God. Tragically, the devil fooled Eve into thinking that obeying God was not in her best interest. She thought that exercising the option of disobedience would make her as smart as God. Instead, she foolishly trashed her relationship with the true God, the Source of life. By refusing to let the loving Lord be her master, she became subject to the only alternative: death, sin and satan became her master.


We find it so hard to take from theoretical doctrine to practical reality the thrilling truth that God is good, infinitely wise, and passionately and selflessly devoted to our eternal welfare. Little children are sure they know how to have the most fun – eating nothing but ice-cream and candy, chasing balls on to busy streets, sticking forks into electrical outlets, playing with scorpions, and so on. They remain safe, healthy and grow up to be outstanding adults, however, only by obeying parental directions that at the time they don’t like. No matter what our age, we find it hard to believe that there is anyone in the universe who knows better than us what is best for us. Nevertheless, the truth remains that, relative to the infinite intelligence of Almighty God, we are as little children and as likely as them to be dangerously mistaken as to what will end up giving us the greatest satisfaction and happiness. To submit to God is to let him give us his best. Like running for cover and warmth during a blizzard, we desperately need to snuggle into the God of infinite wisdom. To enter into total submission to God is to enjoy the ultimate safety.

My help comes from the LORD !!

Psalms 121: 1

¹ I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

² My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Hills represent rich people, famous people, and strong people

We may look up for help to these rich or famous or strong people on earth. Our help may or may not come from them.

King David also is saying, I lifted up my eyes to see these people, to see if help comes from them.

BUT, ultimately my help comes from the LORD.

Dear Brother, dear Sister, if you need help, first look up to GOD, because ultimately it is HIM who would help us or arrange help for us. Unless GOD helps us, our help from earthly hills would be clouds without water.

The deeper our relationship with JESUS, the lighter our burden

1 Peter 2:19, 20

¹⁹ For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

²⁰ For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do well and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.

To endure sufferings is not a small thing or an easy thing. But with GOD, when we have our relationship with JESUS, HE makes this easy. The sufferings would seem nothing when JESUS holds our hand. Then we conquer those sufferings so that peace comes into our heart, and thereby, our faith strengthens, leading to fulfillment of our prayers. 

It is impossible to please GOD without faith. Faith moves GOD to do great things for us, to answer our prayers. 

That is why, JESUS says in Mathew 11: 28-30,

²⁸ Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

We should allow GOD to carry our burden; we can shift our burden to JESUS only when we are in a relationship with JESUS. The deeper our relationship with JESUS, the lighter our burden.

Are you misunderstood or blamed or abused or reviled or mocked? Are you looking for justice from GOD?

Are you feeling cornered, misunderstood by everyone around you, are you fighting for justice for what you haven’t done? Are you saying, why is this happening to me?

Dear Brother, dear Sister are you feeling a lot of injustice around you? Your own people screaming and yelling at you for things that were not at all your faults or making you scapegoat where you do not deserve?

Are you thinking that people do not understand you, and so you brood over the situation and worry why things are going wrong? Are you feeling lonely in the midst of many?

Then brother, sister, the test is for you, not for others around you. They are all instruments to test you. If you keep failing, GOD keeps testing you again and again with the intention to bring you out fine, refined and bearing the image of JESUS. GOD loved you even before the foundations of the earth were laid. HE reproves whom HE loves. 

Because JESUS represents the heavenly FATHER who is always long-suffering and forgiving, abundant in mercy. Else the mankind might have been destroyed long back not able to bear the wrath of GOD, for the intense sinful nature of man.

2 Peter 3:9 says, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

GOD is abundant in mercy, long-suffering and forgiving. HE would like to see HIS character in us – to forgive others just like HIM. Because the opposite of ‘forgiveness’ is ‘revenge’, which is the character of the devil, the accuser, the liar and the murderer from the beginning.

When we pass the test, surely reward awaits us. GOD sees JESUS in us when we forgive every one. Then all unfavorable situations will turn favorable; all people who hated you will turn to look up to you. Those who reviled you will stop doing that and start respecting you. All mockery will come to an end. Abusers will turn as well wishers. All curses will turn into blessings; your blessings will overtake curses to erase them forever. 

Depression, worry, fear, unbelief, limitation are all caused by satan.

“Conquering mind”, “take over mind”, “never accepting defeat- mind” are all given by THE HOLY SPIRIT.

It is your will to choose satan or HOLY SPIRIT because both are trying to gain control over your mind. Turn to the HOLY SPIRIT and with all humbleness; submit to the voice of the LORD.

Stop bragging, stop complaining, and stop crying, stop worrying, stop cursing, and stop bothering.

Start prayer, start filling you with the presence of the LORD, start filling yourself with the word of GOD, start filling the courage from the LORD and start over afresh with fresh anointing. Rise up against all odd situations and win over every situation in “GOD’S way of conquering”.

If you feel like laughing to yourself when someone hurts you, when you smile at a difficult situation, then it means you are filled with the presence of the LORD, you are filled with faith, you are full of “conquering mind”. It means that you realized that you are in the battlefield and glad for one more battle to be won.Else you need to fill yourself with GOD’S power, need to revive your relationship with JESUS so that the mere relationship with JESUS fills you with love, forgiveness and forbearance for others, gives you conquering mind and fearless life.

 

If you love JESUS, then

(1)    Choose to keep quiet for the injustice done to you, though you have the option to retaliate. Don’t worry, GOD says, vengeance belongs to ME 
(2)    Choose to hold peace when someone abuses you or blames you for no fault, though you have the option to fight back. Don’t worry, GOD says, battle is MINE

(3)    Choose to forgive and pray for the person who hurt you, though you have the option to curse. Don’t worry, GOD says, I will heap coals of fire upon your adversary’s head

(4)    Choose to talk about an issue only to the LORD in prayer, though you have the option to talk about it to everyone around you and defame the person who hurt you. Don’t worry, GOD says, I will take care

(5)    Choose to bless those who insult you or mock you, though you have the option to show your wrath upon them. Don’t worry, GOD says, I will shame them

Then you will conquer everyone just like JESUS because HE is a conqueror. The same people who hurt you will turn to you and look up to you in shame. Obedience to the word of GOD brings blessings. Revenge is not for the child of GOD, but it is of the FATHER to avenge us.

Because JESUS kept quiet for the injustice done to HIM, bore every insult and mockery in silence when the soldiers spat on HIM. JESUS forgave everyone who ever had hurt HIM or pierced HIM or reviled HIM and killed HIM.

HE spoke only to HIS FATHER and depended upon HIM, trusting in HIM in obedience even unto death, because JESUS knew that HIS FATHER would give HIM power over everything, even death. 

 And GOD, the FATHER exalted HIM to have dominion over everything in heaven, on earth and appointed HIM to return as KING, before whom every knee will bow and every creature will worship, the KING who is eternal, The Alpha and The Omega.

JESUS after 3 days of crucifixion has risen and is ascended with the same body that HE had when HE came into this world, to represent victorious man in heaven.

GOD is looking to see the image of JESUS in all of us to grant us victory over sin, over sickness, over lack, over our weaknesses, over curses, over all evil and dark forces, over demonic powers, over problems, over calamities, over accidents, over everything that stands in our way, even death.

So, cheer up, don’t give up. Try to hear the voice of the KING in all situations and be of good courage because the KING is on your side. Never let fear overtake you because the all powerful GOD is with you.

JESUS promised “I am with you always”. “I am the Emmanuel” meaning GOD is with us.
